Beau Brummel led the trend for men to wear understated, but beautifully cut clothes, adorned with elaborately knotted neck wear. Brummel is credited with introducing and bringing to fashion the modern man's suit worn with necktie; but he ended up having to flee England for his gambling debts and died penniless of syphilis--so im sure for the latter part of his life he was NEVER fully dressed.
