TODAY IS NATIONAL BILLY ZABKA DAY!!!...

and now
A FEW WORDS ON BILLY ZABKA
from RICH FIEMAN
Wow, a tribute to Billy Zabka and the lunch time thrills and spills he's given us. How does one pay homage to the biggest and best dick of the 80's? From Johnny, to Greg Tolan, to Chas, Bill Zabka's characters embodied the very essence of cockdom. But Billy played these characters knowing full well that he would have to get his ass kicked at the end of the movie. I mean, how embarrassing is it to get kicked in the head by Ralph Macchio standing on one leg? Despite the knowledge of his impending humiliation, Billy Zabka delivered lines like "the pussy toss for distance" with aplomb. So lets' salute Mr. Zabka the best way I know how: Everybody get up, grab your end of the table, and lift!

SET YOUR TIVOS...

this monday Miss Tyra will be doing the unthinkable
going undercover as a man! click on the site's sidebar for a sneak peak

is it just me or does Tyra's insane confidence come off more like the confidence of an insane person?

i posted about this about Gwen's new song about two weeks ago
thanks for not giving me credit ---vh1

"I used to be fat...

now I'm a poodle lady. Let's Work Out!"

Okay, seriously...

what's the deal with Mary Poppins and Bert?

I mean the sexual tension (or asexual tension) is beyond palpable.
and then the way that Bert notices the wind changing means that he has met Mary before--
they have some history--but what?!

if you haven't watched in awhile do yourself a HUGE favor and netflix/rent it.
and then maybe you can explain Bert and Mary's relationship to me.

here are a few things about MP that you may have forgotten were so hilariously awesome:

-they live next to a nutjob Admiral Boom who thinks he's still at sea and sets off explosions every morning.
(awesome!)

-George Banks' song when he enters his home:

I run my home precisely on schedule /
At 6:01 I march through my door /
My slippers, sherry and pipe are due at 6:02 /
Consistent is the life I lead
It's grand to be an Englishman in 1910
King Edward's on the throne it's the age of men
I'm the lord of my castle the sovereign, the liege
I treat my subjects, servants children, wife with a firm but gentle hand, noblesse oblige.
It's 6:03 and the heirs to my dominion
Are scrubbed and tubbed and adequately fed
And so I'll pat them on the head and send them off to bed Ah, lordly is the life I lead. Winifred, where are the children?
(HILARIOUS!)
-the singing cartoon animals during "It's a Jolly Holiday with Mary"

(funny and adorable!)

-TALLEYHOOOOOO!

-"I met a man with a wooden leg named Smith."
what other movie uses that joke?

-oh yes, of course and Michael getting stuck in the closet during "Spoonful of Sugar"
"Let me out! Let me out!"

(JUST DELIGHTFUL!)
i promise you will spend the rest of the week greeting people "Ello! Ello! Ello!"

I have always <3'd this clip...

from Dr. Katz.
in case you don't remember Dr. Katz was an awesome cartoon on comedy central.
comedian Jonathan Katz played a therapist whose patients were all comedians.
This youtube video was always one of my favs but no one else had seen it so I would quote it and people would just look at me weird.
So from now on there is no reason for you to look at me weird the next time I say
"i'm a manatee!"

While we're on the topic of Dixie Chicks...

just in case anyone was wondering,
this week marks the official changing of the
"song of empowerment sing-a-long while you drive" CD
all over the country women (and secretly some men)
are putting their Natasha Bedingfield CDs back into their jewel cases
and popping in the Dixie Chicks Taking the Long Way

also, some version of the song's lyrics to "The Long Way Around" will be the senior quote for thousands of high school senior girls around the country.
at least i know if i was a senior mine would be:

Well I never seem to do it like anybody else
Maybe someday, someday I’m gonna settle down
If you ever want to find me I can still be found
Takin’ the long way
ok so i have a weak spot...i've been found out.

I'm not ready to make nice...

or ready to make fun of the Dixie Chick's music video of the same name.
below is the youtube video of MadTV's parody...

they did a good job of mocking the original (see below)

but i'm not sure enough people are familiar with the original to get it...
and after seeing Shut Up and Sing
it's clear the other Dixie Chicks aren't ashamed by what Natalie said.
For some reason this whole thing just rubs me the wrong way.
thoughts??

I think it's time for an intervention...

i think you might need to go to AAA
American Apparel Anonymous
please just back away from the lame leggings, put down the cute tube socks, and buy your white v-neck shirts from Target like the rest of the world.

Well well well...
