now that's what i call music...
--in gap commercials.
i wish they made a gap commercial compilation cd. i would buy it--or download it.
as "unhip" as the gap may be it rivals ipod commercials for best music.
i think in a fight the gap would win. (if only because it would be a dance-off and gap's dancers have the advantage of not being in silhouette and having spent a full semester studying "gap ad choreography/movement" at julliard.)
even though i fully support their ads, i almost never shop at the gap
i DO, however, shop at old navy. the winner time and time again for "most annoying ad".
sometimes i wake up in the middle of the night with their winter 2000 "performance fleece" jingle still stuck in my head:
performance fleece
ooh it's fine
performance fleece
i'll be there at nine!
thankfully, i'm not alone in this. those at urbandictionary.com understand my pain:
Old Navy:
1.A clothing store owned by the GAP. Established in 1995. Usually know for their TV and radio spots that stay in your head until death.
Old Navy, Old Navy, Old Navy Performance Fleece. Old Navy, Old Navy Performance Fleece!
2.Clothing company that makes the shittiest commercials/jingles ever in commercial/jingle history.
If you see an old navy commercial, turn the tv off, unplug it, and throw it out the window.
anyway, while reminiscing on the gap musical ads of yesteryear i came across this on youtube:
for those of you who live in LA this will give you a chance to vicariously live out your fantasies of demolishing a part of The Grove...for those of you outside of the Los Angeles area i think you'll enjoy it anyway.
