please explain to me why...

why according to 1980s movies---
when something unexplained happens that causes an adolsecnet boy to either age REALLY REALLY REALLY FAST (ahem Big) or stay the same age for a REALLY REALLY REALLY long time (ahem Flight of the Navigator)
the only way to be certain that the people around you are telling the truth----the only way to prove that trapped in your body or in the aged bodies around you are the same people you knew before youre freak "accident"
is to insult each other and reinact a taunt or song you used to do with each other...
where as i feel like adolscent girls would say "hey it's me remember i'm the only one who knows you still haven't gotten your period and have a huge crush on Donald!"


i wonder if i should have a special passcode/taunt/secret song that i do with my friends as insurance in case something like that should happen to me!
