ok my thoughts on "Tonight" by NKOTB
while this song was not as big of a chart topper as some of the other New Kids songs
it holds a special place in my heart
#1 there's something about songs that reference past hits of the artist that i always find kinda funny
it's like a clip show but for pop stars (and rappers)
"taught you bought hanging tough
as long as you got the right stuff"
hilarious!
#2 this song also mentions touring...it's like the New Kids version of "Stay" by Jackson Browne
(sadly i could not find a youtube clip to illustrate this point---do yourself a favor and look up the lyrics online if you aren't already familiar)
#3 a friend pointed out to me once how the New Kids, while not kids or even boys for that matter, have lyrics that always use the word "girl". this song is no exception.
i guess the old axiom is: true know your audience.
#4 if you can stomach watching the whole video or fast forward to the end the best part of this song has to be the "La La La La La La Tonight"
#5 how unfortunate that one of the guys really does look like a monkey...he must have gotten all the left over groupies.
